According to the industry Samsung Electronics plans to launch their strategic smartphone – the Galaxy S9 (codenamed Star) and Galaxy S9 Plus (codenamed Star 2)  in the first half of the year from February to March of next year.

Some IT media and others have speculated that Samsung Electronics will unveil the Galaxy S9 at the CES exhibition in early January (January to March) to counter the Apple iPhone X, It is unlikely.

The Samsung Galaxy S5-S7 was unveiled at MWC and the Galaxy S8 was unveiled at its own event in New York and London.

The Galaxy S9 series most likely be the first to feature the Qualcomm’s latest chip Snapdragon 845 and the EXINOS 9810 chipset, which is based on the second generation 10-nm process. Bluetooth 5 support allows you to directly broadcast from your phone to multiple devices, like speakers and wireless earbuds.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are likely to be equipped with 3,000 and 3,500mAh batteries, respectively.

Last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones had 3,000 mAh and 3,500 mAh batteries, respectively. Brazil’s ANATEL, the local telecommunications regulator “leaks” actually do list new details about Samsung’s new phones. The leaks reveal that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will come with exactly the same capacities. Here’s how one certification:

The device comes in a 5.7 inch version with 4GB of RAM and a single 12 megapixel camera behind and an 8 megapixel autofocusing selfie in the front. The S9 Plus gets a 6.2 inch screen, 6 GB memory and a dual camera on the back and the same selfie in the front. On both devices, the main camera has a variable aperture between f / 1.5 and f / 2.4.

As we can see on the retail box (we could not confirm its authenticity), the phone will have a dual rear camera with optical stabilization and super slow motion capture: Super Speed Dual Pixel 12MP OIS (F1.5/F2.4). The front camera is an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus.

The Galaxy S9 series is the first case where the ‘Y-OCTA’ (Your On-Cell Touch AMOLED), a touch-integrated display technology, will be appeared first. Where is the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S9? On the Galaxy S8 the finger sensor had to move to the back of the phone. For many users this is a sub-optimal solution. Meanwhile, it seems that the S9 will not have a fingerprint sensor in the screen itself.
